Philadelphia Eagles QB Hurts Officially Inactive
The Philadelphia Eagles will attempt to get by another week without their MVP-candidate passer. Quarterback Jalen Hurts is officially inactive for today's Week 17 matchup with the New Orleans Saints.
Hurts has missed the past two weeks with a shoulder injury suffered in the Eagles' Week 15 25-20 win over the Chicago Bears. His backup Gardner Minshew netted 355 passing yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions in a 40-34 loss to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 16.Today's inactives#NOvsPHI pic.twitter.com/YeqzFcObjN

At 13-2, the Eagles haven't officially clinched home-field advantage in the NFC yet; they'll need to win at least one of their two games over the final two weeks. They face a New York Giants team that could be playing for their playoff lives in Week 18.
Hurts has been one of the league's elite passers this season, totalling 3472 passing yards and 747 rushing yards for the league's top-scoring offense. Minshew has proven he can keep the Eagles competitive in Hurts' absence, so it makes sense for the team to prioritize their QB1's health in the playoffs over his availability in the regular season.
