Philadelphia Eagles "Hopeful" WR A.J. Brown Will Play in NFC Championship
The Philadelphia Eagles will host the NFC Championship game, and they should be close to full strength. According to head coach Nick Sirianni, star wide receiver A.J. Brown should practice on Wednesday, and the team is "hopeful" he'll be ready for Sunday's game.
Brown suffered a minor hip injury in the Eagles' Divisional Round 38-7 win over the New York Giants. He played 51 offensive snaps but only nabbed three of six targets for 22 yards. Given the degree to which the Eagles dominated the Giants, it's possible the team simply took it easy on their number-one wide receiver. Both CB Avonte Maddox and WR A.J. Brown are expected to practice with the Eagles today, according to coach Nick Sirianni.

The Eagles acquired Brown ahead of the 2022 regular season via trade with the Tennessee Titans. He was sensational in his first year with the team, setting career highs in catches (88) and receiving yards (1496) while matching a personal best in touchdowns (11). The Eagles will need him at the peak of his powers for Sunday's matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. The 49ers sport the league's top-ranked defense in yards allowed and points allowed.
