Philadelphia Eagles DC Gannon Emerges as Head Coaching Candidate for Arizona Cardinals
Also in this story: If Denver wants to speak with candidates they have not yet interviewed… Keep an eye on Jonathan Gannon. If the #Eagles lose, they are allowed to speak with him. #AZCardinals have interest, too. https://t.co/7neaXGqrSO

Gannon took over as defensive coordinator for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2021. After finishing 10th in yards allowed and 18th in points allowed under Gannon in their first year, the Eagles defense flourished into one of the league's best units this season, finishing second in yards allowed and eighth in points allowed.
The Eagles have also been a particularly deadly pass defense under Gannon. They were the best in the league this season in passing yards allowed and net yards per passing attempt allowed thanks to a relentless, potent pass rush: they compiled a crunching 70 sacks this season, the most by a team since the 1984 Chicago Bears.
Gannon is a young, ascendant coach on one of the league's truly elite teams. He would be a great fit for any team looking to prioritize building a dominant, overwhelming defense.
