New York Jets Rookie Cornerback Makes History
The New York Jets may have missed out on the playoffs this season, but they certainly took a massive step forward, and on Friday, they saw three players (Quinnen Williams, Sauce Gardner and C.J. Mosley) make All-Pro, signalling a change in The Big Apple.
While all three were incredibly impressive in 2022, it was Sauce Gardner, the No. 4 overall pick out of Cincinnati that made history, as he became the first cornerback in 41 years to be elected first-team All-Pro in his rookie year, as he was impressive all season long, allowing just 1 Touchdown and shutting down WR1's all season long.
Coming into the season, Sauce revealed that he had three goals: Pro Bowl, All-Pro and Defensive Rookie of the Year, and after playing all 17 games and starring for a Jets defence that was turned around in a big way, he's got two of three, setting records along the way, in what is looking like a promising career going forward. The first rookie CB to be First-Team All-Pro in 41 years.
