New York Giants Tab Week 18 Starting Quarterback
The New York Giants aren't taking any chances heading into the postseason. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the team will start backup quarterback Davis Webb for today's meaningless Week 18 showdown with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Already locked into the NFC's sixth seed, the Giants will rest several key starters today, including quarterback Daniel Jones. The Giants could hypothetically cost the Eagles the conference's top seed and all its advantages with a win, but they've apparently decided sabotaging their NFC East rival isn't worth risking their health. And so it will be Giants QB Davis Webb vs. Eagles QB Jalen Hurts.https://t.co/ipLlqAJTYa

Webb initially entered the league as the Giants' 87th overall pick way back in the 2017 NFL Draft. He has bounced around the league a little bit, making brief stops with the Buffalo Bills and New York Jets, but he found his way back to the team that drafted him earlier this year. He has never made a regular-season start or thrown a regular-season pass.
