New England Patriots To Extend Promising Young Coach
The NFL season just ended this past week for most teams, and with 5 Head Coaching vacancies along with plenty of coordinator jobs up for grabs, the searching and scrambling for people to fill those roles has been chaotic, but now, the New England Patriots are set to take one candidate completely off the board for other teams.
Several teams have expressed interest in the Patriots Linebacker Coach and former player Jerod Mayo, but now, the Patriots have confirmed that they are going to lock him up for the foreseeable future, as he has shown great promise as a coach.
Beyond that, the team will be looking to fill the Offensive Coordinator role that Matt Patricia somewhat filled in 2022, and if they can keep Mayo and find a solid veteran to lead this offence, we could be looking at a major bounce back candidate in 2023.From the Patriots: the team have begun negotiations with assistant Jerod Mayo to keep him with the team long-term and will begin the process of interviewing offensive coordinator candidates next week.
