Miami Dolphins Linebacker Chubb Inactive for Week 17
The Miami Dolphins will be without two of their biggest stars for their crucial AFC East showdown with the New England Patriots later today. Edge rusher Bradley Chubb is officially inactive for Week 17.
Chubb suffered a hand injury in the Dolphins' Week 16 26-20 loss to the Green Bay Packers. He returned with a cast and eventually played 33 total snaps, but he'll miss today's matchup. It's his first game lost to injury this season.Inactives for #MIAvsNE. pic.twitter.com/hDbdlCgWa0

At 8-7, the Dolphins currently hold the last Wildcard spot in the AFC, but a loss today against the Patriots could rapidly change their fortunes. Chubb's unavailability, along with the potentially season-ending concussion suffered by quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, could undo what has been a promising year for the Dolphins.
Chubb joined the Dolphins via a blockbuster trade with the Denver Broncos earlier this year and promptly signed a five-year, $110 million extension. He has totalled a modest 2.5 sacks and one tackle for loss in his seven appearances with the team this season.
