Kansas City Chiefs Head Coach Confirms QB Will Play In The AFC Title Game
Despite playing at home on a weeks worth of rest, the Kansas City Chiefs were certainly on upset alert against the red-hot Jacksonville Jaguars, and when Patrick Mahomes went down with an ankle sprain, and even after coming back into the game, there were those questioning his availability for next weeks game.
That game will come at home against the team that knocked them out of the 2021 playoffs in the Cincinnati Bengals, and today, Head Coach Andy Reid has put those worries to rest, as he's confirmed that Mahomes, the likely 2022 NFL MVP will be ready to go for the game.
This is a similar injury to one Mahomes suffered back in 2019, but according to Reid, this one is nowhere near as serious, and with hard work towards the treatment, it appears he'll be ready to go again, and if they are to avenge their 2021 loss to Burrow and the Bengals, they'll need Mahomes at his absolute best.#Chiefs coach Andy Reid told reporters that QB Patrick Mahomes "worked hard on the treatment and is doing OK." Asked about his status, Reid says he's "gonna play" and that this isn't as serious as the one Mahomes suffered in 2019.
