Jaguars Head Coach Speaks On Calvin Ridley's Suspension

Speaking Monday, Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson said, "we feel strongly" that Calvin Ridley will be reinstated this offseason.

Pederson's comments are good news and confirm that Ridley is continuing to progress toward a return to football activities.

The star wide receiver is eligible to apply for reinstatement on Feb. 15, and assuming that the NFL approves his return, Ridley's first contract with the Jaguars could come as soon as April 17.

The twenty-eight-year-old was suspended at least the entire 2022 season as a result of him betting on NFL games during a five-day stretch in November of 2021. He has not played since.

The Jags traded the Atlanta Falcons conditional 2023 and 2024 draft picks for Ridley in November at the trade deadline.

In his last full season, in 2020, Ridley racked up 90 receptions for 1,374 yards and nine touchdowns over 15 games. His addition to the offense would be huge for the Jaguars in 2023.
