Injury Update on Seattle Seahawks WR Lockett
The Seattle Seahawks managed to keep their flickering postseason dreams alive with a Week 17 23-6 win over the New York Jets, but a leg injury to wide receiver Tyler Lockett certainly put a damper on things. Thankfully, he appears to have avoided a major setback. Head coach Pete Carroll assured reporters Monday that Lockett is feeling better following his leg contusion.

Lockett played a mere 23 snaps on Sunday, his first game back from a finger injury that cost him Week 16. He nabbed both of his targets for 15 yards.
At 8-8, the Seahawks still have an outside shot of stealing the final NFC Wildcard spot, so Lockett's availability and health will be worth monitoring throughout the week. He has arguably been the Seahawks' most effective receiver this season; he leads the team in receiving yards per game and receiving touchdowns.
The Seahawks face the Rams in Week 18. They'll need to win and cross their fingers that the Detroit Lions defeat the Green Bay Packers on Sunday Night Football. Unfortunately for the Seahawks, a win over the Rams would eliminate the Lions from playoff contention, thus robbing them of any reason to beat the Packers (besides spite, of course). Needless to say, the schedulers did the Seahawks absolutely no favors.
