Injury Update on Minnesota Vikings Offensive Lineman O'Neill
The Minnesota Vikings will have to do without one of their key offensive linemen for the rest of the 2022 season. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports tackle Brian O'Neill suffered a partially torn Achilles last week, guaranteeing he will miss the entirety of the playoffs.
O'Neill was placed on injured reserve earlier this week after suffering a lower leg injury after 13 snaps in the Vikings' Week 17 41-17 loss to the Green Bay Packers. He earned an impressive 83.1 overall grade from Pro Football Focus over his 16 starts this season.#Vikings standout OT Brian O'Neill, who was placed on Injured Reserve yesterday, suffered a partially torn Achilles last week, sources say. He's out for 2022 and the playoffs and is on the road to recovery.

O'Neill's absence could be a major blow to the Vikings' playoff chances if Sunday's throttling at the hands of the Packers is any indication. Quarterback Kirk Cousins finished the day with 187 net passing yards and four turnovers, wide receiver Justin Jefferson nabbed only one of his five targets for a season-low of 15 yards, and Vikings running backs totalled a mere 65 yards on 17 attempts. If the Vikings' offensive line is in tatters entering the postseason, the entire offense could suffer.
