Houston Texans Officially Hire Their Next Head Coach
The Houston Texans have struggled in a big way for consistency over the past few seasons, with four Head Coaches since 2020 (Bill O'Brien, Romeo Crennel, David Culley and Lovie Smith), but now, they've zoned in and officially hired the man they believe can help them through this rebuild.
That would be San Francisco 49ers Defensive Coordinator and former Texans linebacker DeMeco Ryans, who has been one of the hottest names in the NFL this hiring cycle, but with his connections to Houston, he ends up with a 6-year deal to lead this team going forward.
With some young talent already, and the No. 2 and 12 picks in the upcoming 2023 NFL Draft, the Texans have a very good chance to turn their fortunes around in a big way, and given the success that Ryans had in San Francisco, you can bet that this is the stability and leadership this organization desperately needed.Former 49ers’ defensive coordinator DeMeco Ryans and the Houston Texans reached agreement today on a six-year deal, per sources.
