An added wrinkle of course: Bengals at Chiefs this Sunday.
Lammons made headlines during the Pro Bowl last year when he, Alvin Kamara, and two other friends were arrested on felony battery charges. The Chiefs then opted not to tender him a new contract last offseason, but eventually re-signed him only to cut him just days ago.
The waiver claim will officially process the day after the Super Bowl, when Lammons will be eligible to join the Bengals.
In 16 games last season, the twenty-six-year-old recorded seven total tackles and one forced fumble. He plays mostly on special teams.
The Bengals, of course, play the Chiefs this weekend.
