Mayden signed with the Bills' practice squad back in October, but was released not too long after.
In four games last season with the Philadelphia Eagles, Mayden recorded six total tackles while playing primarily on special teams. He was then waived from the Eagles' injured reserve on Sept. 20.
The move had to be made to replace Damar Hamlin on the roster.
