Buffalo Bills Safety Hamlin Discharged From Hospital

Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin has passed yet another threshold in his recovery from his frightening cardiac arrest during Week 17's Monday Night Football matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals. Hamlin has been discharged from Buffalo General Medical Center/Gates Vascular Institute. Hamlin will be permitted to rehab at home and with the Bills instead of at the hospital. It's a huge step forward in his return to health and normalcy.

Hamlin collapsed after a hit in the first quarter of the Bills' Week 17 showdown with the Cincinnati Bengals. He was resuscitated on the field and rushed to a local hospital, where he remained in critical condition for multiple days. The NFL suspended and eventually cancelled the game, resulting in massive changes to the AFC playoff structure.

Hamlin still has a long road to recovery, and it remains to be seen when and if he'll ever play another down. The Bills host the Miami Dolphins in the Wildcard Round on Sunday.
