Broncos Interim Coach Wants To Use Tight End More
He's had a very disappointing season.
Denver Broncos interim coach Jerry Rosburg said of tight end Albert Okwuegbunam: "I haven't seen him much on the field this year, and I'm just curious as to why that was because he is a good-looking athlete."
Rosburg isn't the only one wondering the same thing.
In the team's first game since playing TE Greg Dulcich on the injured reserve, Okwuegbunam played 37 of 70 snaps. He finished the game with three receptions for 45 yards and a touchdown.
In seven games this season, the twenty-four-year-old has 10 receptions for 95 yards and a touchdown on 17 targets.
According to the Denver Post, former head coach Nathaniel Hackett did not trust Okwuegbunam as a blocker. It remains to be seen if we will see the young tight end more moving forward.
