Baltimore Ravens Linebacker Gets Massive Extension
The Baltimore Ravens made one of the biggest moves at the 2022 NFL Trade Deadline, as they send a second and fifth round pick to the Chicago Bears for linebacker Roquan Smith, and now, the two sides have come to an agreement on a massive extension.
That extension will keep Smith with the Ravens for a further five seasons, with a $100 million extension, and given that he's been a crucial part and a leader of this defence, he will be crucial to any future success that this franchise will have.Per Saint Omni, The #Ravens agree in principle with All-Pro LB Roquan Smith — now the highest paid at his position in NFL history with a 5-yr, $100M deal. $45M fully guaranteed & $60M in total guarantees. Huge. The 1st off-ball LB to get $20M per year. Roquan represented himself. pic.twitter.com/KCy7t26SpZ

He becomes the first off-ball linebacker to get $20 million per year in NFL history, and given the performance he's put in alongside Patrick Queen and the rest of this defence, it's certainly been well earned.
