Atlanta Falcons Adding Veteran Coach To Defensive Staff
The Atlanta Falcons had a promising start to the 2022 season, but with the injuries, especially to the defensive side of the ball, they slowed down quite a bit, and now, they've filled their vacant Defensive Coordinator job with Ryan Nielsen in order to turn things around.
They've already started making additions to the staff now, with veteran defensive coach Jerry Gray the latest, and after coaching in the NFL since 1996, he would be a sorely needed veteran addition to this staff during the Falcons rebuild.
With the leadership of young star A.J. Terrell, this is a group that certainly has potential going forward, and if they can add one or two pieces to the group, we could see a big time turnaround in 2023, especially with improvements on the offence. The #Falcons are working on a deal with veteran defensive coach Jerry Gray to join new coordinator Ryan Nielsen, sources say. Gray, who has been with the #Packers the past three seasons as DBs coach/pass game coordinator, coached with Arthur Smith in Washington 2007-08.
