Arizona Cardinals Declare 2 Players Out for Week 18
The Arizona Cardinals appear to be throwing in the towel on their 2022 season. Head coach Kliff Kingsbury announced that quarterback Colt McCoy and wide receiver Deandre Hopkins will not play in the team's Week 18 matchup with the San Francisco 49ers.

McCoy is still recovering from a concussion suffered in the Cardinals' Week 15 24-15 loss to the Denver Broncos, so the team will exercise caution by allowing him to skip the season finale.
Hopkins missed Week 17 with a knee injury, and he will rest again this week. The five-time Pro Bowler will end the year with 717 yards in nine games this season. He is signed to the Cardinals through 2024, but he may be slowing down slightly: he'll be 31 in June, and he has totalled 1289 receiving yards over the past two seasons.
At 4-12, the Cardinals are well out of the playoff hunt and have nothing to play for in Week 18 other than perhaps preserving a high pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. They'll regroup this offseason and cross their fingers that quarterback Kyler Murray can make a speedy return.
