Update On Punter Matt Araiza's Court Case
He was released by the Buffalo Bills this past summer when he was part of a lawsuit in State Court where he was accused, along with two other San Diego State football players, of sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl at a party.
Now, it is being reported that punter Matt Araiza will not be criminally charged in the alleged assault case from October of 2021.
In a statement on the matter, the San Diego District Attorney said, ''Prosecutors determined it is clear the evidence does not support the filing of criminal charges and there is no path to a criminal conviction.''
Araiza reacted to the news with a statement of his own: ''I am grateful that the District Attorney and the San Diego Police Department have discovered all the facts and found no criminal wrongdoing. I am excited to continue my NFL career.
Former Bills rookie punter Matt Araiza says he is “excited” to continue his NFL career after no charges have been filed against him.
