Tennessee Titans Release 2 Linebackers
The Tennessee Titans are scrambling following three straight losses, and they've decided to switch things up in the front seven. The team announced the releases of linebackers Joe Schobert and Ola Adeniyi Monday afternoon.
Adeniyi has appeared in 19 games over the past two seasons with the Titans, notching 2.5 sacks as a rotational pass rusher. Schobert appeared in six games as a more traditional inside linebacker for the team, logging 16 total tackles and one forced fumble. The #Titans have released OLB Ola Adeniyi and LB Joe Schobert.

Adeniyi and Schobert's departures will likely allow the Titans to experiment with their depth as they try to hold onto the top spot in the AFC South. After jumping out to a 7-3 record over their first 10 games, the Titans suddenly look looked extremely vulnerable after Week 14's 36-22 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. They visit the Jaguars in the season finale and still have games against the Los Angeles Chargers and Dallas Cowboys on the schedule. An ugly final month of the season could easily cost the Titans the playoffs.
Adeniyi entered the league as an undrafted free agent with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2018. Schobert was the Cleveland Browns' 99th overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. He earned a Pro Bowl in 2017 by leading the league in tackles. He has played for three teams in three years since his rookie contract expired.
