NFL Announces NFC Players of the Week for Week 14
The NFL revealed its NFC Players of the Week for Week 14, and they include a quarterback making the comeback of a lifetime in his debut with a new team and a defensive end continuing a dominant trend for the NFC's best team.
On offense, Los Angeles Rams quarterback Baker Mayfield improbably takes home the honors for a miraculous fourth quarter in his team's 17-16 win over the Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday Night Football. After only joining the Rams on Tuesday, Mayfield led the team on two touchdown drives in the final four minutes of regulation. Overall, he netted 211 yards on 39 dropbacks. It wasn't an exceptional game on the stat sheet, but it was an unforgettable moment in the rollercoaster career of the former first-overall pick.NFC Players of the Week! On defense, Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Brandon Graham earns his flowers for his suffocating performance in his team's 48-22 win over the New York Giants. Graham logged three sacks and three tackles for loss in the game while also forcing a fumble. It was his second Player of the Week award this season and the eighth overall for an Eagles player this year.
As for special teams, Carolina Panthers kicker Eddy Pineiro gets the nod for his 12 points on six kicks. Pineiro nailed three field goals and three PATs, including a 47-yarder in his team's surprising 30-24 upset over the Seattle Seahawks.
