Stevenson briefly returned after the initial injury but was then seen heading to the locker room. Running back Kevin Harris has carried the ball six times after logging only four total carries in the first 13 weeks of the season.
Stevenson has emerged as the Patriots' top back this year by contributing as a powerful runner and receiver out of the backfield. He had rushed for 734 yards at an efficient 4.6 yards per attempt in his 12 appearances this year while adding 383 receiving yards at 5.7 yards per target. He leads the Patriots this year with 1117 yards from scrimmage. An extended absence could spell disaster for the Patriots' season. The Pats still have games against the Las Vegas Raiders, Cincinnati Bengals, Miami Dolphins, and Buffalo Bills on their schedule.
