Ward signed on with the Jets last week after being waived by the Arizona Cardinals. There was thought that he might be able to get into a game with the Jets dealing with injuries to their running backs. However, he never did, and his release could mean that Michael Carter is close to a return.
Ward has played 32 career games, recording 33 yards on nine attempts. He's spent all three seasons of his career with the Cardinals.
