Injury Update On Steelers Quarterback

He was forced out of Sunday's game early with a concussion.

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said that quarterback Kenny Pickett is still in the concussion protocol and that his participation in practice this week will determine his status for Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers.

Tomlin added that Pickett actually cleared the concussion protocol after exiting the game when he was sacked by the Baltimore Ravens' Roquan Smith, however, he was re-evaluated and ruled out for the game.

Because this is the second time this season that the rookie quarterback has entered the concussion protocol, the team will be extra cautious with their 2022 first-round pick.

If Pickett can't gain clearance in time for Sunday, either Mitch Trubisky or Mason Rudolph will be in line to start against the Panthers.

We'll get more information on Pickett's status as the week progresses.
