Former Carolina Panthers Quarterback Claimed On Waivers
The 2022 NFL season has been stacked full of incredible and shocking news, and this week was no different, as the Carolina Panthers and Quarterback Baker Mayfield came to terms on his release yesterday, and it had the entire NFL world talking about the waiver wire this week and which team would claim the former No. 1 overall pick.
While all the talk was about the San Francisco 49ers, it was actually their division rival, the Los Angeles Rams that have swooped in and picked up Baker Mayfield, and while it's highly unlikely he's ready for Thursday Night Football, sources close to the situation say 'there's a shot'.Former No. 1 overall pick Baker Mayfield was claimed on waivers today by the Los Angeles Rams, per league sources. Either way, this is a solid pickup for a team that's lost their top two starters, potentially for the season, and if he doesn't pan out as a member of the Rams and decides to sign elsewhere in the off-season, they'll get a compensatory draft pick in return.
