Cowboys Owner Clarifies Role Of Star Running Back
The Dallas Cowboys absolutely demolished the Indianapolis Colts in Week 13, strengthening their position in the NFC Wild Card race, while still keeping hope alive of an NFC East division crown if the Eagles should falter, and while there's plenty of factors contributing to their success in 2022, one of the biggest is the running back tandem of Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard.
In Week 13, it appeared that Pollard took over the starting role, even with Elliot healthy, and today, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones confirmed that this wasn't a demotion for Zeke, but more of a minor disciplinary action as a result a cell phone in a meeting.
Zeke ended up taking 17 carries to Pollard's 12, so the tandem was once again splitting carries, but Jones wanted to clarify the stance on Elliott, who should be back to being the starter in Week 14, but given the success the duo have had in recent weeks, they'll both be getting plenty of touches going forward.Owner/GM Jerry Jones provided some insight today on Ezekiel Elliott not starting Sunday's game. ↓#Updates | @blockchain
