Avery suffered an abdomen injury in Week 14 and has been out ever since. He'll now miss the rest of the regular season, but has a chance to return in the postseason if the Buccaneers advance to the divisional round.
In nine games this season, the twenty-seven-year-old has recorded five total tackles and one sack.
In Avery's absence, Anthony Nelson will get plenty of snaps at the outside linebacker position.
