Texans Star Absent From Practice Amidst Trade Rumours
The trade deadline is just hours away now, and one of the names that seems almost a certainty to move is Texans wide receiver Brandin Cooks, who could help any playoff team right now and going forward, despite the heft $18 million price tag he is owed in 2023.
Cooks has six 1,000 receiving yard seasons in his career, and the Texans have reportedly been in contact with him to work out a deal that benefits both parties, and with a price tag of a second round, there's a very good chance he gets moved today. On that note, Cooks was reportedly absent from practice today, and while it may be unrelated, it appears to be yet another indicator that he is on the move ahead of the 4pm trade deadline, if Houston can make something happen.
As of yesterday, the Rams, Vikings, Cowboys and Giants were all intrigued by the possibility of bringing him in, and were in contact with Houston, and while he may or may not go to one of these teams, just hours away from the deadline, all indications point to No. 13 being on the move.#Texans WR Brandin Cooks was not spotted at practice today, per local reporters who are there. Houston plays on Thursday. Trade deadline is in under three hours.
