Texans Key Receiver Misses Another Practice, Amid Trade Deadline Displeasure
Houston Texans receiver Brandin Cooks missed practice again on Wednesday, citing personal reasons after missing Tuesday amid his unknown status during the trade deadline, according to Texans reporter Aaron Wilson.
Cooks, who was involved in multiple trade scenarios over the past several weeks, ended up staying put in Houston as the 2022-23 NFL trade deadline concluded Tuesday at 4 p.m. EST. He was quick to show his displeasure of the whole situation however, after he posted a seemingly cryptic tweet right as the deadline expired.
After the Texans key receiver expressed his displeasure towards his club, it is unclear how both parties will move forward.
Houston could cut ties with Cooks if the situation escalates further, but that is unlikely due to their unwillingness to part ways without at least some compelling compensation for the 29-year-old wideout, who has notched at least six seasons of 1,000 reception yards in his productive eight year career.
The Texans (1-5) will need to figure out a solution rather quickly as they set to faceoff against the undefeated Eagles (7-0) on TNF.
