Rhattigan has yet to play this season while recovering from a torn ACL he suffered a year ago.
The move opens up a 21-day practice window for the linebacker to be added to the active roster. If he is not, he'll revert to the injured reserve for the rest of the season.
The twenty-three-year-old made his NFL debut last season, appearing in 14 games with the Seahawks and recording 10 total tackles and one fumble recovery.
