Rams Running Back Returns To Team; Waiving Him Is Still Possibility
He surprisingly was not traded on deadline day.
His relationship with the Los Angeles Rams was not good, as Cam Akers was away from the team for Week 8 and missed multiple practices.
However, Akers is returning to practice on Thursday.
The #Rams turned down multiple offers for RB Cam Akers before Tuesday's trade deadline and now are working with Akers' agent in hopes he'll play for them again this season, per sources.

Akers has been inactive the past two games for what the team called personal reasons.
His return to practice could be a sign that his relationship with the team is starting to mend. Coach Sean McVay spoke positively on Wednesday about his conversations with Akers, although McVay did say waiving the running back and giving him a fresh opportunity was still a possibility.
It still remains to be seen if Akers will contribute again for the Rams this season. We should get more information regarding the situation on Friday from McVay.
In five games this season, the former second-round pick has 151 rushing yards and a touchdown on 51 attempts. Akers simply has not looked like the player he was prior to his Achilles injury, however, the Rams' struggles in the running game could also be attributed to their banged-up offensive line, which currently ranks as the second-worst blocking unit in the league.
