Raiders Claim Former Chargers Defensive Lineman
There's been a few shocking roster moves made in the NFL as of late, and potentially one of the strangest was when the Los Angeles Chargers released former first-round draft pick Jerry Tillery, who was productive for this team from the moment he stepped on the field for them.
Despite racking up 106 tackles, 10.5 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery and 2 passes deflected since being taken No. 28 overall back in 2019, the Chargers released him this past week, and now, a team that showed plenty of interest in him at the trade deadline in the Las Vegas Raiders have claimed him.
Less than a week ago, the Raiders released Johnathan Abram, the player picked before Tillery in the 2019 NFL Draft, and now, they've got some defensive help on the way up front as they look to turn around a very disappointing 2-7 start, and while Tillery isn't a star, he will certainly help. The #Raiders have claimed former #Chargers first-round pick DL Jerry Tillery, source said.
