Patriots Place Defensive Tackle On Injured Reserve

The New England Patriots certainly aren't one of the most talented teams in the NFL, but despite that, they've been off to a solid start in 2022, with a record of 5-4 that unfortunately has them placed in fourth in the AFC East, but now, to make matters worse, they've had to place second year defensive tackle Christian Barmore on Injured Reserve, meaning he will be out for a further four games.

Barmore has played in just six games thus far in 2022, after competing in all 17 for New England a year ago, and in those six games, has seen his impact go up from his rookie year, although he has only 15 tackles and 1 sack to show for it. The Patriots, without an explosive offence, rely heavily on their defensive unit and run game to win in 2022, and losing Barmore for another four games is going to be a massive loss for this defensive front.

New England were optimistic with his progression from injury, hoping he could return in time for the rematch with the AFC East rival New York Jets, but unfortunately, he just wasn't progressing the way they would have liked, and so, they'll have to fight back in the division race without him, and they will be hoping his return later in the year can help spark them to the playoffs.
