NFL Three Stars For Week 9: Quarterback
The Quarterback position is the most important in football, and time and time again we've seen good teams lose plenty of games with a struggling QB or a bad team being elevated by one, and in Week 10, we saw all of that and more across the NFL. The position is incredibly important, and very deep in today's league, and that was on show this week, as plenty of players stepped up and showed exactly why in today's NFL, absolutely anyone can step up and put on a show from week to week.
3. Jalen Hurts
Stat line: 21/27, 243 yards, 2 Touchdowns, 0 Interceptions, 9 carries, 23 yards.
This certainly wasn't the best game of the season for the Eagles young QB, but once again, the team did enough to win, and he was accurate, didn't turn the ball over, and showed himself as a threat through the air and on the ground. Hurts and A.J. Brown have developed an incredible chemistry in 2022, and if he can play like this each and every week, there's very few teams in the NFL that can step up to the undefeated Eagles.
2. Tua Tagovailoa
Stat line: 21/30, 302 yards, 3 Touchdowns, 0 Interceptions.
Tua Tagovailoa is now 6-0 as a starter in 2022, and with the most dangerous wide receiver group in the NFL, he has been putting up amazing numbers, and Week 9 was no different. Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle got going once again, and even with the incredible performance from Justin Fields, the team moved to 6-3 on the year, and once again, Tagovailoa is showing that the rumours of his demise were greatly exaggerated.
1. Justin Fields
Stat line: 17/28, 123 yards, 3 Touchdowns, 0 Interceptions, 15 carries, 178 yards, 1 Touchdown.
Plenty of criticism has been sent Fields way since entering the NFL, but in recent weeks, his play has picked up tremendously, and Week 9 was the biggest example of just how far he's come as a dual-threat Quarterback, as he put on a show. Fields ran for an NFL record for a QB with 178 yards and added 4 Touchdowns with no turnovers, and if he continues this play, the future in Chicago is very bright, especially with all of the draft picks and cap space this team has this coming off-season.
