NFL Rumors: Colts Running Back to Miss Week 9
The Indianapolis Colts offense has been among the worst in the league through the eight weeks, and they'll apparently need to get by without their best player in Week 9. Running back Jonathan Taylor has missed all three practices this week and is expected to be unavailable for the team's matchup with the New England Patriots.
Taylor injured his ankle in the Colts' Week 8 17-16 defeat to the Washington Commanders. He managed 76 rushing yards on 16 carries before his exit.No Jonathan Taylor at the start of the Colts’ final practice of the week. Doubt he plays Sunday.

Taylor has totalled 533 yards from scrimmage across six injury-riddled appearances this season. His regression has coincided with a disastrous offensive collapse for the Colts. The team finished ninth in scoring in 2021 thanks in large part to Taylor's 2171 yards from scrimmage and 20 total touchdowns. The Colts rank 30th through eight weeks this year.
Taylor joined the Colts as their 41st overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft and immediately emerged as one of the league's elite backs, totalling 3639 yards from scrimmage and 32 touchdowns over his first two seasons. He was particularly devastating against the Patriots in 2021, rushing for an amazing 170 yards on 29 carries. The Patriots will thank their lucky stars they'll avoid a repeat performance.
