NFL 3 Stars For Week 8: Tight End
Over the past few years, the NFL has seen a few tight end's solidify themselves as the best in the league, and for the most part, they play like it, as they are consistently performing at a very high level, but this week, we have three young names that have stood up and shown they can be every bit as good as the veterans. That won't happen every week, but this week, we see some refreshing new names on the list, as we believe these were the three brightest tight ends in the NFL in Week 8.
3. Isaiah Likely
Stat line: 6 catches, 77 yards, 1 Touchdown.
Mark Andrews has been a regular on this list in 2022, but with his injury this week, it allowed rookie Isaiah Likely an opportunity to shine, and that he did on Thursday Night in a big win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Likely was the teams leading receiver and hauled in a massive Touchdown grab, and if he can continue playing like this, the Ravens may have gotten one of the steals of the 2022 NFL Draft.
2. Kyle Pitts
Stat line: 5 catches, 80 yards, 1 Touchdown.
Kyle Pitts finally stood up for all his fantasy owners out there and caught a Touchdown pass this week, and as the Falcons got themselves to 4-4 and sole possession of first place in the NFC South, it appears the coaching staff is finally prioritizing him in the offence. He's struggled to make an impact in 2022 thus far, but Week 8 was an impressive showing, and if he can get more targets going forward, expect him to be on this list more often.
1. Tyler Conklin
Stat line: 6 catches, 79 yards, 2 Touchdowns.
The New York Jets may have fallen in a big test at home against the rival New England Patriots, but one player who stood up in a big way was Tyler Conklin, who has quickly established himself as one of Zach Wilson's top targets. He hauled in the teams only 2 Touchdown's in the loss, and despite not being one of the bigger name tight ends in the league, has performed like one thus far in 2022.
