In nine games this season, Rankins recorded 25 total tackles (17 solo), two sacks and one forced fumble.
The Jets have a deep defensive line, dressing 10 for the first time on Sunday, however, most of it is at the defensive end position. With Rankins now sidelined, that leaves Quinnen Williams, Solomon Thomas and Nathan Shepherd as the other tackles.
The Jets injuries keep piling up, as they now start to affect their defensive players. Before Sunday, the team was ranked seventh in total yards allowed. The bye-week will help.
Rankins is a former 1st-round pick by the New Orleans Saints in the 2016 NFL Draft.
