Jaguars Acquire Suspended Wide Receiver
The Jags have acquired wide receiver Calvin Ridley from the Atlanta Falcons for two future conditional draft picks.
The structure of the trade is based on when Ridley is able to play.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports that Ridley will fetch either a fifth or sixth-round pick in 2023 depending on when he is reinstated to the league. The Jags will also send a 2024 second, third, or fourth-round pick to the Falcons depending on if he makes the team, reaches a play-time threshold, or is signed to a long-term extension.
Shocker: The #Falcons are trading WR Calvin Ridley to the #Jaguars, sources say, in exchange for complex draft compensation that can be worth at maximum a 2023 5th rounder and a 2024 2nd rounder. Ridley is suspended through at least the 2022 season. pic.twitter.com/Zk6Yb7U5F3

Ridley, who is suspended for the season, will not suit up for the Jags this year. Regardless, it's a significant move by the Jaguars, who will have a 1-2 receiving corps of Christian Kirk and Calvin Ridley next season.
If he can be reinstated next season, Ridley will be a major solution for the team in 2023.
