Indianapolis Make Shock Decision On Their Interim Head Coach
The Indianapolis Colts fired Head Coach Frank Reich just a matter of hours ago, and now, the announcement of his replacement has come completely out of left field, as the team have officially announced that legendary centre and member of the Colts Ring of Honor Jeff Saturday as the Interim Head Coach for the rest of the 2022 season.
Jim Irsay and the front office bypassed John Fox, Gus Bradley and potential future Head Coach Bubba Ventrone to hand Saturday the job, after being a consultant for the team in recent times. It's hard to say whether this is a bad move or not, as we haven't seen much out of Saturday yet as a coach (he was the head coach for Hebron Christian Academy in Georgia for a time), but it's certainly an interesting decision that absolutely no one saw coming. We have named Jeff Saturday interim head coach. pic.twitter.com/GetJtD9yAr

The Colts will have a press conference later today to announce Saturday officially, but there you have it, Indianapolis pass up several candidates for a former player that has no coaching experience at the NFL or college level, so let's see how this plays out going forward.
