Green Bay Packers Claim Former First-Round Safety Off Waivers
The Las Vegas Raiders made yet another shocking move this past week when they released another first-round pick from recent drafts, as Johnathan Abram, solid starting safety was released by the team, and today, he has officially been claimed by the Green Bay Packers.
Despite the 3-6 record through 9 weeks, the play of the Packers defence has been solid thus far in 2022, and even though the teams biggest need remains the wide receiver spot, they've claimed Abram, who may not slot in immediately as the teams starter, but will likely play a depth role that could see him earn some solid starter minutes. The Packers claimed former Raiders’ Johnathan Abram on waivers, per source.

The team failed to pick up his fifth year option before releasing him, so Abram will be a free agent at the end of the year, so for now, it appears that the Packers are giving him an opportunity to audition for a starting role on the team next year, whether it be with them or another squad.
