That created the spot on PS for TE Nick Vannett, who joined the team earlier today.
Vannett was cut by the Saints over the weekend and will now have another chance with the Jets.
The veteran has mostly been a healthy scratch and reserve option for the Saints this season, but he has got into three games, catching two passes for 13 yards.
Over his eight-year career, the twenty-nine-year-old has played with the Seattle Seahawks, Pittsburgh Pirates, Denver Broncos, the Saints and now the Giants.
Vannett is a former third-round pick by the Seahawks in the 2016 NFL Draft.
