Falcons Tackle Active For TNF After Birth Of Child
The Atlanta Falcons play a huge divisional game against the Carolina Panthers tonight on Thursday Night Football, so it must have come as a huge shock to the team when starting left tackle Jake Matthews had to fly back to Atlanta to be there for the birth of his son.
Thankfully for everyone involved, the birth went well, and now, Matthews is reportedly on his way to the stadium in Charlotte, and will be active and ready to go in a must-win game, as the Falcons look to get back to 5-5 and continue to set the pace in the NFC South.#Falcons LT Jake Matthews is active. Matthews was the sixth overall pick by Atlanta back in 2014, and has played and started 128 games with the team ever since, and while he's made it to just one Pro Bowl over the stretch of his career, Matthews has been one of the most solid tackles in the NFL, and if the Falcons are to make it to the playoffs in 2022, Jake and the offensive line will play a massive role in that.
