Chargers Wide Receiver Injures Ankle
The Los Angles Chargers had their top wide receivers Mike Williams and Keenan Allen together on the field for one of the few times this season, but it didn't last long. Williams injured his ankle early in the team's 30-27 Sunday Night Football loss to the Kansas City Chiefs and did not return.
Williams had missed the previous two games with a high-ankle sprain that he exacerbated in the first quarter of Sunday's game. He made a spectacular 15-yard sideline catch on six snaps before his departure.Mike Williams aggravated his high ankle sprain, Brandon Staley said.

Williams' 510 receiving yards lead the Chargers this year, so his absence was likely keenly felt in the close defeat. Any extended absence will be yet another frustrating setback for a Chargers offense that has already been without fellow wideout Keenan Allen for all but three games this season.
With the defeat, the Chargers fall behind the Chiefs 5-5 to 8-2 in the AFC West, all but surrendering the division considering the Chiefs now hold the tie-breaking advantage. The Chargers will hope Williams can return later in the season to help keep the possibility of a wildcard berth alive.
