Chargers Defensive Tackle To Miss Remainder Of 2022 Season
The Los Angeles Chargers acme away with a close win over the Atlanta Falcons in Week 9, but they haven't come away without any issues, as their veteran defensive tackle Austin Johnson has suffered a 'significant knee-injury', which will unfortunately mean that his 2022 season is now over.
Johnson has spent parts of his 6-year career with the Tennessee Titans and New York Giants, before signing a 2-year, $14 million deal with Los Angeles ahead of the 2022 season, but now, he will be unavailable ahead of the teams major playoff push in the second half of the year. He has totalled 192 tackles, 8 sacks, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery and 8 passes deflected, and he will be a crucial absence from this very talented defence for the rest of the year.Another #Chargers injury: DT Austin Johnson suffered a significant knee injury during Sunday’s game vs. Atlanta and will miss the rest of the season, per HC Brandon Staley. Johnson signed a 2-year, $14M deal to join LA and has played in 57% of snaps this season.

The Chargers came into the 2022 season as one of the Super Bowl favourites in the AFC, and while they have a winning record of 5-3, but now, they'll have to push for a playoff spot without a key veteran, which could certainly hurt them down the stretch.
