Buccaneers' Star Safety Returns to Practice
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will try to put an end to a three-game losing streak when they host the Los Angeles Rams in Week 9. Thankfully, they may have one of their best defensive players back in the fold to help them do it. Safety Antoine Winfield Jr. returned to practice Thursday after missing Thursday Night Football's 27-22 loss to the Baltimore Ravens with a concussion.
More good news on Bucs injury front, as safety Antoine Winfield practiced today for the first time since his concussion vs. Panthers. Hicks, Davis, SMB and Brate continue to practice as well.

Winfield suffered a concussion during the Bucs' Week 7 21-3 loss to the Carolina Panthers. He had played every single defensive snap up until that point in the season, allowing a mere 57.4 passer rating on throws in his direction. His return should provide a huge boost to a Bucs defense that allowed 453 yards against the Ravens in his absence.
Winfield joined the Bucs as their 45th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft and immediately became a key contributor for the team, starting 19 games including the postseason for the eventual Super Bowl champions. He was named to his first Pro Bowl in 2021, earning an excellent 86.1 overall grade from Pro Football Focus for his efforts.
