Browns Designate 2 Players to Return from Injured Reserve
The Cleveland Browns appear a little bit healthier coming out of their Week 9 bye. The team announced Monday morning that it had designated edge rusher Chase Winovich and running back Jerome Ford for return from injured reserve.
The Browns acquired Winovich this past offseason in a trade with the New England Patriots in exchange for linebacker Mack Wilson. He appeared in two games for the team before suffering a hamstring injury. Ford was the Browns' 156th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. He appeared in four games for the team mostly as a kick returner, totalling 145 yards on six returns before injuring his ankle.
Winovich and Ford both find themselves buried on the depth charts of the Browns' deepest positional groups. Winovich has former first-overall picks Myles Garrett and Jadeveon Clowney to contend with, and Ford has Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt ahead of him. It's possible neither will see the field much until injuries clear a path to playing time.
