Broncos Running Back Clears Waivers
The Denver Broncos made the move yesterday to waive veteran running back Melvin Gordon, and while the move itself wasn't surprising, the timing of it was, and most believed, despite all the issues with his fumbles, that he would be claimed by a playoff team needing depth in their backfield.
That didn't happen however, as Gordon cleared waivers today, and officially became a free agent, and while there's time for him to talk to teams and potentially join an active or practice squad, but it's certainly a surprise that he cleared waivers in the first place.
For a veteran like Gordon, there's no doubt that his production was down in 2022, with just 318 rushing yards through 10 games, and with the fumble issues becoming too much, it's always going to be a risk to play him in the biggest moments.Former #Broncos RB Melvin Gordon cleared waivers and is now a free agent.
