49ers Suspect MCL Tear For Running Back
San Francisco 49ers running back Elijah Mitchell took over the starting role in 2021 with an impressive campaign, and with the way this team is built, it led many to expect a superstar breakout in 2022, but unfortunately, Mitchell just hasn't been able to stay healthy.
This lack of availability led the team to go out and get superstar Christian McCaffrey, but after Mitchell's return, it was expected that they would come together and form one of the most dangerous back field combination the NFL has ever seen.
Unfortunately for the team that was just finally getting healthy, they fear that Mitchell has one again sprained his MCL, and while further tests tomorrow will confirm the severity, it's not expected to be one that keeps him out for the remainder of the 2022 NFL season.49ers running back Elijah Mitchell sustained a possible MCL sprain in Sunday's game against the Saints, per HC Kyle Shanahan https://t.co/qqAnQ5cbZR pic.twitter.com/DhxH8QiFZR
