Eason was cut from the Panthers' practice squad last week with the return of Sam Darnold, but he gets another NFL opportunity now.
The twenty-four-year-old quarterback joined the Panthers practice squad in late August and was elevated to serve as the backup QB in two games this season. He made an appearance in the Panthers' Week 6 loss to the Los Angeles Rams, passing for 59 yards and an interception.
For his career, Eason has played just two career games, making five completions for 84 yards and two interceptions. He was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in the fourth-round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
